The 8 Gifts of Christmas in July: ✨FREE✨ Baseball Romance, a Cover Reveal & more
A few book & publishing updates... plus an All-Star week baseball freebie!
Dearest romance readers, feminists, and fat activists,
It’s been a while since I published my newsletter, and I won’t even apologize for that. I’ve been busy doing hot girl shit—writing, traveling, housesitting, shopping at Trader Joe’s. That being said, I’m back, and this time, I’ve brought a slew of writing updates, sneak peeks, and a free baseball book offer.
Not quite the twelve gifts of Christmas in July, but hopefully, eight is enough to satisfy you. ☺️
And if you want to skip to the excerpt from my upcoming age gap, surprise pregnancy romance, Addicted to Glove… scroll to the bottom.
1. FREE Baseball Novella
The MLB All-Star game is just around the corner, and my San Francisco Giants have three pitchers on the National League roster. And seeing as the latest Rose City Roasters book takes place during the All-Star break, I’m doing a free book sale.
Between July 13th—15th, the e-book for All Bats are Off, my spicy MM novella, is free on Amazon.
All Bats Are Off released at the end of May, and before you ask, you do not have to read the first two books in the series to enjoy this one, though the events do run concurrently with part of book two, Pitches Be Crazy.
This one night stand-to-lovers romance between a thicc (with two c's) bisexual baseball player who loves bread almost as much as blowjobs, and a gay, long-haired sports journalist with a pierced peen, features drag queen Bingo, braiding hair as a love language, county fair food porn, bathtub hook-ups, and an almost entirely LGBTQIA+ cast of characters.
2. The ✨COVER REVEAL✨ for Addicted to Glove
Coach Daddy and Dani’s book release is right around the corner—August 26th—and even though I haven’t set up the preorder yet, I do have the cover. Has anybody else noticed the tremendous lack of orange covers? Let’s change that. 😉
Also, the ARC request form for Addicted to Glove is open. The fabulous folks at Torch Lit Ink are helping me organize this one, so click the link to request an ARC while they’re still open!
3. Bookmarks that are a… vibe
I snagged these bad boys at the Hot & Steamy in the PNW event last month, and yes, I absolutely chose the ones that matched my holiday novellas. It took a second, but I did finally find the vendor—Katrina Medina—though I’m not sure if she sells them online.
4. Jess Bryant
Full disclosure, Jess is a good friend of mine, so I might be a bit biased, but she is also an incredible author, activist, and all-around amazing human who’s going through a rough patch right now. So, this is me, telling you that you should check out her books, most of which are available in Kindle Unlimited!

5. Christmas in July Romance Recommendations
It’s been a while since I published a newsletter/post, but you can blame that on publishing a book in May and attending three book signing events in June.
To make up for that, I’m putting together 3-4 posts with Christmas in July romance recommendations. Stay tuned…
6. 🥰 I SIGNED WITH AN AGENT!! 🥳
Okay, so maybe this one is more of a humble brag—though my friends and family keep reminding me it’s okay to celebrate and not minimize my success—but this month, I signed with a literary agent. I’m so pleased to be represented by Rachel at D4EO, especially since long before her literary agent career, she was a fan of my books.
Annnddd she has big plans for the Rose City Roasters books… starting with getting them into audiobooks. Keep your fingers crossed!
7. Christmas in July: Buddy Read
If you’re not already a part of my reader group, Kelly’s Book Baddies, and you happen to enjoy holiday romance reads—stay tuned for my recommendations—then now’s the perfect time to join baddie nation.
For the month of July, we’re buddy reading—or rereading, for some—all three novellas in my Holidays in L.A. series, starting with Meet Me in Los Feliz, my debut book.
In between some light book discussion throughout the week, there will also be some games, giveaways, and more. It all leads up to my Holidays in L.A. e-book sale, happening later this month, between July 21st—25th. Don’t worry, I’ll send out another reminder or two before then.
Aside from this month’s special event, Kelly’s Book Baddies is also a welcoming and inclusive space for romance readers—and writers—to discuss their favorite books, share Pedro Pascal memes, and swap recipes from time to time. 🌈
8. Addicted to Glove Sneak Peek
Please enjoy the following excerpt from Addicted to Glove, the third book—and fourth story—in the Rose City Roasters baseball series. Like the rest of the books in the series, this one is a standalone, though I do recommend reading the previous books for more context. Enjoy!!
“Holy. Fucking. Shit.”
“Shh,” I scolded, eyeing the stairs at her back. “Keep it down.”
Pink did not need to know about this—not yet at least. Hell, I was still trying to wrap my head around the idea of being a parent without feeling like I might throw-up or shit myself—or worse, some combination of the two—at any given second, so the thought of telling my roommate—my best friend—that I was three months pregnant with his boss’ spawn did not sit well with me.
Also, there were certain things you just didn’t discuss with friends, and one of those things was the R-rated play-by-play of how their boss knocked you up.
Hard pass.
“I can’t believe it.” Her hands flew up to her mouth. “You’re having a baby with Coach Daddy.”
“Please, never call him that again.”
“Oh, I will one-hundred percent be calling him that again. Between the muscles, full body tats, and slutty little glasses, the man looks like he could be on the cover of a romance novel.” Her eyes lit up. “Or a calendar. Oh, Dani, can you please organize some kind of Roasters calendar?”
I dropped my head forward. “One crisis at a time, please.”
Nonetheless, I made a mental note to reach out to the head of our community relations department. If the bachelor auction during last fall’s Buns and Roses Festival had proved anything, it was that the girls, gays, and theys all wanted a piece of the Rose City Roasters.
Nessa paced across the tiles, one hand raking through her mussed sex hair, the other waving at the pregnancy tests like they were cursed relics. “How long?”
“Geez, I don’t know. It might take a few months to organize the photo shoot, but we could definitely get the calendars out by Thanksgiving—”
“No.” Nessa leaned on the counter across from me, her teasing expression slipping into something gentler. “How long has it been since you guys started things up again?”
Silence stretched between us. The rain outside ticked against the kitchen windows like a metronome counting down to impact. Nessa and Pink were the only ones who knew about my fling with Brooks—the first time around, that was. Like most of my relationships, ours had been short, hot, and complicated beyond repair. As had our break-up, if you could even call it that.
What had started one hell of a fuck fest had quickly spiraled into the most awkward night of my life, one that ended with Nessa and Brooks bumping into each other in our upstairs hallway.
Naked.
There was no coming back after that—nothing soured a secret relationship faster than the truth.
“It’s not like that,” I said.
Nessa gave me a pointed look. “Please don’t tell me you’ve secretly hooking up with Coach Daddy this whole time.”
“Not the whole time,” I said, holding up my hands in mock surrender. “We had a nice little stretch of mutual avoidance. Very healthy. Very mature.”
She gaped at me. “And then?”
I gave her a slow, knowing smile.
“Then came New Year’s Eve.”
That’s all for now! As always, readers…
Be feral. Stay dangerous.
